About the Role:
Arrow Express is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Crater/Art Handler to join our team in Freeport, NY. This is a hands-on role perfect for someone who takes pride in careful craftsmanship and understands the importance of protecting valuable items during packaging and transport. If you have a steady hand, a sharp eye, and a passion for precision, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities:

• Build custom crates and packaging solutions for fine art, antiques, and high-value items
• Safely handle, wrap, and pack artwork and fragile objects for storage or shipment
• Load and unload artwork and crated items with care using proper lifting techniques and equipment
• Inspect items for pre-existing damage and document condition reports accurately
• Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams to ensure timely and secure delivery of shipments
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in the crating and warehouse area
• Follow proper art handling protocols and company standards for all packing and crating projects

Requirements:

• Prior experience in art handling, crating, carpentry, or fine art logistics preferred
• Ability to safely lift and move heavy objects (50+ lbs) and work on your feet throughout the day
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to protecting high-value and fragile items
• Basic carpentry and hand/power tool skills for custom crate construction
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a team
• Forklift certification or experience operating warehouse equipment is a plus
• Strong communication skills and ability to follow detailed instructions
